Project Management

In 2002, after ten years with the University of British Columbia, I launched Aim True Enterprises. I enjoy project work and possess the unique ability to visualize, strategize, and work logically and methodically through operational issues and challenges to achieve tangible results. I combine sensitivity with responsibility and determination. I have a reputation for getting things done.

How I Work

I love buildings, and I love being part of a team that brings all the disparate pieces together to create something functional, welcoming and (ideally) beautiful. My work in the construction field evolved organically.  I’ve always had a real love of structures (and every home I’ve ever lived in has benefited from that) but I became seriously enamoured in 1994 when I started as a temp at Green College, a newly minted graduate residential facility at UBC. I arrived shortly after substantial completion and one of my responsibilities was to oversee the deficiency process through our first year of operations. What an education! I discovered I was well suited to the work. I enjoyed liaising with the design team, the trades and the various stakeholders and I learned more about plumbing and heating than I ever thought possible. One project I initiated during my tensure was the construction of a woodshed. The Principal, Richard Ericson, had a plaque made that dedicated the ‘building’ to me when I resigned 3 years later. (Can we link to a photo?)Not all my projects have been construction related but the majority of them have. Project work satisfies my need to be a continual learner, an essential ingredient for a consultant, and certainly essential for me.

Aim True Projects
The most significant project I’ve worked on was UBC’s Pharmaceutical Sciences Building, a 279,000 SF state of the art learning and research facility that opened in the fall of 2012. https://pharmsci.ubc.ca/facilitiesA list of some other projects I’ve been involved in can be found here: (can we link to the word doc?)But the most meaningful project I’ve worked on was our Healing House on Ringwood Avenue.
